In chapter 3 of the book of Zephaniah the Lord encourages His people, the faithful remnant who love & obey Him. He says “”In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem (His people, aka us too), : “Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak (limp-NASB; slack-KJV; don’t be discouraged!). The LORD your God in your midst (He is with us because He is in us!!!), The Mighty One (Warrior God/Lord of hosts/angel armies), will save; He will rejoice (take delight-NLT) over you with gladness (joy-KJV), He will quiet you with His love (fill you with His peace), He will rejoice over you with singing (shouts of joy-NASB).””-NKJV *Italics mine
If you are struggling with fear or anxiety please know that you are not insignificant to the Father!! He delights in you joyfully!!
In those moments that we feel anxious, worried, or fearful can we just close our eyes, focus our attention on feeling held in His strong arms, hearing Him quietly SINGING OVER US, filling us with His peace? Like a daddy rocking us, His son or daughter in His arms. We are safe. We are loved & cherished. We are comforted. We only have to look at Him, rest in Him.
He has the power to calm the storm. He is our calm. He isn’t the author or sender of fear or anxiety. But He promises that He is always with us, in us. All we have to do is ask & receive. To turn our eyes, mind, & heart back to Him & let Him do His thing.
1 John 3:1 says “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God…!!”-NIV
Peace & quiet comfort to you on this lovely fall day. Let yourself be held by the Father who loves you.
