Vibrant

….that’s the Word God gave me today.

I’m working on discipline this year, again. That was the word God gave me last year to focus on for growth in my walk with Him. But it was another tough year, so I didn’t grow as much as I could have. This year He has given me “Nothing Else.” Discipline is still my focus, but He has shown me that the only way to learn discipline is seek Him first, remembering that nothing else matters. Because if we are abiding in Him then He will supply everything we need. He is so good!!

So, this morning, as I sat down to prepare for quiet time with Him I began praying, and the word “vibrant” was all over our conversation. What an exciting word!!

I asked Him to transform me by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2) and He minded me that He wants me to be my healthiest self spiritually, physically, and mentally so that I can be VIBRANT for His use and purposes. Wow, God!

So, I dove in!

How do I shine vibrantly? By spending time with Jesus!! When we’ve been together He fills me with His light that overflows. I feel full of light and am so excited! The best compliment we can ever receive is when someone tells us they can tell that we’ve been with the Father!

In Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus tells us “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

We are to influence others in a godly way by letting them see Christ in us. We can only do that if we are VIBRANT from spending time with Him!

In John chapter 1 it is revealed to us that Jesus is the Source of light, which is life! 1:4-5 says “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (overcome-ESV) it.”

You see, He places that light inside of us when we enter into relationship with Him because He (the Light) then comes, through the Holy Spirit, to live in us. We are to use that light to shine in dark places. Light is not stifled by darkness. On the contrary, it dispels darkness!! We can choose to stifle it, but darkness cannot overcome it.

When Moses met with God it caused his face to shine. When he came down from the mountain to speak to the people his face still shone. The people were effected because it was obvious he had been with God. He was reflecting the Father’s glory!!

Oh my, how I want to be vibrant!!

Holy God, being with You and reflecting Your glory to others is all that matters. Help me to discipline myself to spend time with You daily so that Your light and life shine through me so others may see You & want You too!

Because nothing else matters!!

In Jesus’ name
